In simple terms: F & L pays for routine maintenance and normal mechanical wear and tear. The customer pays for damage, misuse, negligence, or loss involving the vehicle.
If there is a question about whether a repair is routine maintenance or customer-caused damage, the condition of the vehicle and the cause of the repair will be evaluated before determining responsibility.
